Robert Johnson

Robert N. Johnson is a Partner at Williams Chartered, P.A. With extensive experience in litigation and insurance defense, Mr. Johnson focuses his practice on construction defect litigation, property damage claims, first-party insurance claims, and insurance coverage disputes. Mr. Johnson represents developers, general contractors, design professionals, and subcontractors in various trades, and material suppliers in construction disputes involving, single family homes and large complex construction cases throughout the State of Florida.


Mr. Johnson regularly presents seminars for insurance adjusters and contractors, covering a wide range of topics including Florida Statute 558, early claims resolution factors, changes to the statute of repose, risk transfer analysis and litigation strategies in construction defect matters.


In addition to his insurance-related practice, Mr. Johnson also has significant experience handling claims involving the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act (FCCPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA).


Mr. Johnson earned his Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law in Orlando, Florida, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia.

Williams

Brett is the founding partner of Williams Chartered, P.A.  He is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Construction Law. His practice focuses on complex civil and business litigation with a focus on construction. He has represented architects, engineers, developers, general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, material suppliers, and all other related trades involved in the design and completion of construction projects throughout the State of Florida. Mr. Williams has also represented homeowners in construction defect, breach of contract and lien disputes.


A native of Melbourne, Florida, Brett has spent his entire career in Central Florida including as a partner at one of the preeminent construction firms in the state. His small town roots have instilled in him the idea that the only advertising a lawyer needs is positive results for satisfied clients.


He has presented seminars and continuing education programs to contractors and trade groups around the state on issues such a developments in Florida Statutes, lien law and business qualifiers. Brett is licensed to practice law in Florida and is a member of The Florida Bar. He is also admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.


He has obtained Board Certification by the Florida Bar in Construction Law. There are only 442 Board Certified Construction lawyers, out of the nearly 109,830 lawyers who are licensed to practice law in the State of Florida. This Certification represents 0.4% of all Florida attorneys.  


Brett is a "Double Gator" having earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida, where he was a member of Florida Blue Key and President of the John Marshall Student Bar Association.


In his free time he likes to golf, hunt, and cheer on his Florida Gators with his wife, Melanie, and German Shepherd, Boomer.
